Irish Cross Border Issues

Cormac Cawley read German and Latin at Trinity College, Dublin before being called to the Irish Bar in 1984 where he practised until March 1990, when he relocated to London and was called to the Middle Temple. He was admitted as a solicitor in England & Wales in 1991 since when he has been a practising solicitor in London.

He is also admitted (but not practising) as a solicitor in the Republic of Ireland and in Northern Ireland.

He had a lot of experience in dealing with matters which overlap the Irish, Northern Irish and British jurisdictions.

He was as a Section 8 Adviser to the Gary Douch Inquiry in Dublin from 2010 until December 2013.

He has acted for Irish solicitors and barristers on cross border matters.

He acted for the Irish parents of victims of serious brain injuries suffered in a UK RTA on the settlement of their claims which involved the Irish Wards of Court and the UK Court of Protection jurisdictions.
